 Sophie 4.11.2006

Well... Wouldn't you know it, we just couldn't resist this cute girl. For a very short time she was known as Vail (she had littermates Aspen, Canyon, Sequoia, Bryce, and Chelly) and all were friendly rompers, but when we saw her we knew we had to have her and give her the best home! Sophie comes from the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation. She was a stray with her mother, and they were all rescued. A black lab / hound mix, all black except a white spot on her chest, she's sweet, very good with children and other dogs. She has a distinct personality and loves to play with her sister, Summer.

Sophie came home with us Saturday, July 22nd, 2006. She was about 14½ weeks old, already spayed (turns out she was only ½ spayed - had to be spayed again!), and weighed 14.6 pounds. Like many puppies, she had kennel cough, which she overcame with medication. She's gotten excellent reports on her checkups with the vet, and now even has her microchip 48125A5E39 and health insurance.

new front teeth: M 9.4.2006She's a good eater, and just learning language skills. She lost her first tooth Tuesday, August 15th, 2006 (picture of new teeth coming in on the right - 9.4.2006).

Dogs are my favorite people. - anonymous

You're almost as good ...

  • If you can start the day without caffeine;
  • If you can get along without pep pills;
  • If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains;
  • If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles;
  • If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it;
  • If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time;
  • If you can overlook it when something goes wrong through no fault of yours and those you love take it out on you;
  • If you can take criticism and blame without resentment;
  • If you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him;
  • If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend;
  • If you can face the world without lies and deceit;
  • If you can conquer tension without medical help;
  • If you can relax without liquor;
  • If you can sleep without the aid of drugs;
  • If you can say honestly that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, color, religion, politics, education, disability, or financial status;

Then, my friend, you are almost as good as your dog!
